Have you ever sat down to do something important — write, plan, create, respond — and suddenly your brain just says… “Nope.”
That happened to me this week.
I finally carved out some quiet time to write to you, and instead of clarity, all I felt was a kind of mental static.
No inspiration. No flow. Just a freeze — that subtle nervous system signal that says: This is too much!
If you’ve ever felt that too — the pressure to produce colliding with the need to breathe. It’s a sign that your nervous system needs a self care moment.
Here are the tools that helped me:
- I did 3 stretches and yawns
- I gently rubbed the palms of my hands together
- I noticed my breath moving in and out of my nostrils
- I noticed myself slowing down
- I came to a moment of stillness
- Then, I asked for a word that represents something I value.
My value words were creativity and flow. I took some time to really savor what is truly important to me.
So instead of forcing it, I paused.
I stepped away.
And within a minute or two… space opened up.
That gentle reset was all it took to reconnect.
